Welcome! Introducing myTruwalk Blog
Hi, I’m Sophia, I’m a Christian, a therapist, owner of Truwalk Counseling PLLC, and this is my blog page. I’m excited to have you here!

I first considered writing a blog for marketing purposes. When I initially launched my business, I was considering all types of marketing ideas. After researching the blog process, SEO, and all the things, honestly, it became a bit overwhelming. There was a lot I hadn’t considered and I had no solid direction for the topics I wanted to discuss. So, I put the idea away for a while to focus on other “easier” tasks.
Well, God brought the dead idea back to life, with clarity. The Lord encouraged me to write a blog about how spiritual maturity and emotional wellness engage one another as we grow in relationship with Jesus. I was to accomplish this by documenting and sharing parts of my own journey. Initially this excited me because it was one great way to marry the themes of my career with biblical principles and witnessing.
“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony…” -Revelation 12:11 KJV
As excited as I was for the idea, I couldn’t help but feel intimidated by the process and the necessary vulnerability. While I consider myself a better written communicator, I’ve never considered myself a writer or author. Not only that, I have to write about my stuff, YIKES! However, my commitment to obeying God’s direction with this blog far outweighed the doubts and discomfort. That commitment I can say is some of the change I’ve noticed in myself as a result of me growing in relationship with Christ. So, here I am, authoring a new blog!
Spiritual Maturity & Emotional Wellness Unite
I’ll be sharing some of the wisdom and revelation God has taught to me through my spiritual and emotional maturation. This blog will give you a peek into my walk with the Lord and how He has challenged, taught, counseled, and comforted me.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is the Father who is full of mercy and all comfort. He comforts us every time we have trouble, so when others have trouble, we can comfort them with the same comfort God gives us." -2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NCV
Through my vulnerability I hope to help edify my readers and spark action in your lives that will help you grow. My insights will come from my lived experiences, career, Bible study, and personal application of biblical principles. I also hope to discourage addressing spiritual and emotional wellness apart from one another.
Engage With Me on this Journey
This blog is for whomever God leads to read it! My goal is to be obedient. I’m not responsible for who and how many are reached, that’s God’s focus. I just pray it will be helpful and encouraging for those reading.
With that, I welcome you with open arms on this journey! I encourage you to engage with me by commenting as appropriate. Questions about mental health resources or requests for support can be sent directly to my email, see the contacts page.
Until the next one, “Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling.” Psalm 2:11 KJV
