Hi, I’m Sophia, owner and sole therapist of Truwalk Counseling PLLC! If you’re reading this, that means you have a desire to change something about your situation. It means you’re taking a step toward prioritizing your health. It also means you're being very courageous in admitting you need help in this season of your life. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), and Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS) in the state of North Carolina. I have been working in the field since 2012. While working with the substance use population, I developed an interest in trauma issues. My desire is to help people address the root of their problems, which so often relates to an earlier traumatic experience.

I offer Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD in adults. This is a cognitive-behavioral approach for individuals that meet criteria for PTSD. Together we will explore your thinking patterns and beliefs. You will learn practical tools to challenge and change unhealthy thought patterns that keep you stuck in avoidance. The goal, activate recovery!
In addition to my professional education and training, my Christian beliefs greatly influence my approach and passion for counseling. I strongly believe the ongoing journey of emotional wellness goes hand in hand with one's spiritual walk and maturity. I encourage a therapeutic process inclusive of Christian values and principles. I believe in praying for my clients as I journey with them during therapy.
